Happy New Year, everybody.

Today we’re going to talk about habits.

In Atomic Habits, James Clear showed us that identity shapes habits.

Positive identity
= good habits
= success

Negative identity
= bad habits
= failure

In Atomic Habits, James Clear talks about cues to build habits,
but not the triggers that instinctively create habits.

The triggers are uncertainty and indecision.

Uncertainty is the trigger, and this is the main cause of it for multipotentialites👇

When we feel uncertainty, we do one of two things.

We either avoid uncertainty by procrastinating with junk food dopamine.

Or we take action with healthy dopamine.

When faced with uncertainty and indecision, we either:
1) take action and follow our curioisty or …
2) we procrastinate and beat ourselves up for not being productive.

These are the only two possible outcomes

And become our identity. 👆

Our identity becomes action takers or procrastinators.

This identity determines our habits in every facet of our lives.

Relationships. Career. Purpose and Meaning. Money.

We Have The Autonomy

We’re not broken.

We’re not lazy

We’re just using the wrong system. To reinvent our creative identity, we change how we deal with uncertainty.

We take action. We follow our curiosity. We experiment with our ideas.
Not once. Not twice. But repeatedly.

This becomes our identity.

I know this to be 100% true, as this is how I reinvented my creative identity. And I’ve witnessed scores of others do the same over 33 years in my creative career.

And you can do the same. Guaranteed or you pay nothing.
