Have you ever felt stuck between the excitement of new opportunities and the fear of missing out on old ones?
This is the dance between our dopamine-fuelled curiosity and the paralysing powers of FOMO.
Side note: why does every little thing need to be such a headfuck? LOL
I was stuck —again.
I always feel ashamed when I get stuck, as I get multipotentialites unstuck for a living.
But I’m self-aware enough to know I cannot read the label when I am stuck in the jar!
I’m too close to it.
Curiosity Vs FOMO
I am following my curiosity.
Working with someone I trust who has the same work ethic and philosophy as myself is a joy.
My focus is on launching the Niche Creator brand.
It’s all-consuming — but, like you, I struggle with transitions.
Being lost in my curiosity is exciting.
I’m like my daughter on Christmas Day excitingly ripping off wrapping paper in anticipation of the unknown joys to discover.
😱 Warning: What goes up must come down!
In the post-dopamine comedown, I sink into guilt as I’m neglecting my personal brand—the very thing that provides me purpose and freedom.
It’s a delicate tightrope walk between the dopamine thrill of curiosity and my responsibilities.
You see, curiosity and FOMO are a codependent relationship—one cannot exist without the other.
They’re two sides of the same creative coin.
Our curiosity drives us to explore new ideas and discover fresh and exciting concepts.
The dopamine fuels hyper-focus.
But the post-hyper-focus blues trigger our FOMO, making us anxious about the opportunities we might be missing out on or leaving behind.
When curiosity leads, we’re fearless explorers.
But when FOMO takes over, we’re paralysed by the overwhelming weight of the “what ifs.”
This confusion stops my creativity in its tracks.
My personal brand is a successful business that fulfils both my purpose and my famili’s financial needs.
But Niche Creator is a powerful tool to help multipotentialite neurodivergents make authentic decisions and get unstuck innovatively.
As a result of this confusion, I haven’t posted a TikTok video for over 7 weeks now.
I’ve also been confused about what to write about on here at times.
This has hamstrung me.
I get stuck in the same weeds as you.
We can solve everyone else’s problems, but we can’t solve our own.
I use Niche Creator dozens of times per day.
I explained my creative dilemma and asked Maximouse (my AI assistant) to advise me based on my core values, creative archetype, and quiz results.
Creative Archetype: Authentic Creator
As an authentic creator, Maximouse encouraged me to document my emotional and overthinking multipotentialite journey.
His advice was to use my personal brand to authentically document my emotional highs and the lows of launching the Niche Creator brand.
To delve into the chaos and confusion.
The perfectionism, the fears and insecurities, as well as the wins.
This way, I’m conceptually blending both brands into one cohesive story.
Niching up two separate brands aligns them with a common goal.
Alignment creates clarity — ( 👈 this is critical)
Clarity removes indecision and fuels creative action.
Every time I get stuck, it’s because of two reasons:
I’m overthinking
I’m not being authentic
Our authenticity and our creativity are the same thing.
To be more authentic is to be in creative flow.
To be in creative flow is to be more authentic.
Why?
Because I’m in the present.
I’m in my body and not my head.
I’m not stuck ruminating about the past or anxiously worrying about the future.
I’m in the flow —in the moment.
If I’m not being true to myself, if I’m stuck in my head overthinking perfectionist planning, then I’m limiting my creative expression.
When I’m in flow I’m embracing my core values:
Creativity: I’m expressing my true creativity without judgement
Authenticity: Because 👆 I’m being authentic
Freedom: This is liberating after being stuck in my head.
Meaningfulness: Reconnecting with my freedom and creativity is a meaningful embrace of my creative expression.
Growth: This has allowed me to overcome my creative block(s) get unstuck and take creative action which helps me grow.
Core values-based decisions simplify our options.
My creative archetype simplifies my content strategy and content philosophy.
They help me read the label when I’m stuck in the jar.
Maximouse cuts through my overthinking emotional bullshit and fears I have attached to the decision-making.
Which, only exist in the corridors of my mind because I have created them.
It’s impossible to predict the perfect decision — it does not exist! There are too many moving parts out of our control or understanding.
But we can make informed decisions that are true to ourselves through the lens of our core values and creative archetypes.
Getting unstuck is making decisions aligned to our true selves and taking action on them.
Hope this helps…
