Idea Sex
Hello everyone,
You’re missing out on hidden opportunities.
Opportunities that could change your life.
Every multi-passionate person has creative genius.
The problem?
We can’t see it. We’re too close to it.
Our multidisciplinary thinking enables us to combine old ideas in unconventional ways.
This is called idea sex.
But most of us will never fulfil our potential because we are slaves to our inner critics and don’t share our ideas
How To Create Your Own Luck!
One of my long-term clients thought his ideas were shit.
We worked on his mindset.
He posted a few TikToks about the future of AI music.
One blew up.
It caught the attention of a multi-Grammy-winning producer.
One of the most famous people in the music industry.
They didn’t know each other before.
Now they’re talking about working on a large, revolutionary project together.
This is potentially life-changing.
And it only happened because he had the courage to share his ideas.
Overnight Success ( 16 years Later!)
I’m currently reading Inner Excellence, a No.1 New York Times bestseller.
First published in 2009 and revised in 2020.
It sold okay.
It didn’t hit the NY Times list until March this year.
The book went viral when Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was spotted reading it on the sidelines of a playoff game.
Sixteen years after its initial publication, it became the best-selling book in the US.
I experienced something similar when Harvard Business School professor Amy Edmondson reposted one of my Substack articles months after I’d published it.
It went viral.
Hundreds of thousands of impressions.
Over 1,000 new subscribers, mostly Harvard alumni and professors.
Dozens became clients, generating a healthy five-figure sum from a single article.
More importantly, it gave me the confidence to double down on my ideas and launch TikTok.
Good ideas travel.
Success in any creative or entrepreneurial project is 80-90% mindset.
I have seen this play out countless times over the decades in the music industry and the creator economy.
Talent is futile without risk.
If you live in fear and anxiety, you’ll attract more fear and anxiety.
You either find a way to overcome it
or learn to live with the regret.
Which scares you more?
The potential rejection of your ideas and work by strangers
or the rejection of yourself and your creativity?
That’s the question I asked myself 5 years ago.
And here’s the kicker… once you finally start sharing your ideas, you’ll realise the bark of fear is far, far, far worse than the bite.
Honestly, it’s all in our heads.
It’s a narrative that only exists because we give it life.
But it feels so real because we obsess over it!
One of my biggest regrets is leaving it soooo late.
We are living through three potential existential crises:
1) AI.
2) Climate collapse.
3) Geopolitical tensions
We live in the most uncertain times in modern history.
Sometimes you’ve got to say “fuck it”…and live for the moment. lol
Share your creative ideas with the world.
I know it's hard, but you can achieve so much more than you think you can.
And we need your idea sex now more than ever :)
