Hello everybody.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed a summer away from writing and spending time with my family.
I’ve also used the extra time to fuck around and find out on social media.
One of my discoveries is that introverts (who also happen to be multipotentialites/NDs) use alter egos to become outrageously successful in their creative and athletic pursuits.
This blew up on Instagram and TikTok, generating over 3 million views.
Famous examples:
Mark Twain
Beyoncè
Mohammed Ali
David Bowie
Lady Gaga
Dr Seuss
Kobe Bryant
Maya Angelou
Eminem
Serena Williams
Will Smith
Dr Seuss
Cristiano Ronaldo
Introverts use alter egos to tap into their extroverted side to be more confident, perform at their best and become more successful.
Carl Jung And Ambiverts.
Jung coined the terms introvert and extrovert. He always stated we’re all on a spectrum.
“There’s no such thing as a pure introvert or a pure extrovert.” Adding that “such a person would be in a lunatic asylum.” — Carl Jung
So no one is 100% introverted or extroverted.
We are all ambiverts.
For example, I’m an INFJ, but with a 65% introversion, 35% extroversion split according to my Myers Briggs results.
This explains our inner contradictions.
The fear of being seen ( introversion) vs the fear of NOT being seen ( extroversion)
Perfectionism (introversion) vs the creative rebel ( extroversion)
Our introverted sides are introspective, creative, spiritual beings who seek purpose and meaning in their work.
But we have a fear of sharing our ideas and work.
Fear of judgement
Fear of failure
Fear of making mistakes
So we either dim the lights on our creative ideas, or never put them out.
This is because we’re suppressing our inner creative rebel…our extroverted side.
Only when I tapped into my extroverted side was I able to start building an audience on social media and Substack.
Alter Egos
High-performing introverts often use alter egos to overcome fears and unlock their full potential.
👉 Beyoncé created Sasha Fierce to overcome her stage fight
👉 Samual Emmens created Mark Twain to write in a style he didn’t have the confidence to do.
👉 Marshall Mathers created Slim Shady for the same reason.
👉 Kobe Bryant used the Black Mamba Mentality to be laser-focused and ruthless on the court.
👉 Serena Williams uses her alter ego to have no mercy over opponents on the tennis court and immediately returns to her feminine, sensitive side off it.
The Creative Perfectionists to The Creative Rebels
My theory as an introvert is this: my introverted side is the creative perfectionist.
It’s my fears, my self-doubt. It’s the part of me that hid for decades.
It’s the part of me that wants to play it safe.
My extroverted side is the creative rebel within. It’s the part of me that wants to take risks and disrupt the status quo.
My creative rebel side wants to kick down doors and make shit happen.
I used alter egos as an artist manager in the music industry. It’s the quickest way to build self-confidence.
And confidence kills all fears.
Unfortunately, the inverse is also true. If you’re stuck in perfectionism, it will drown out your creative rebel, and you will stay stuck.
Perfectionism kills confidence.
Alter Ego work has always fascinated me, but it never occurred to me to utilise it outside the music business.
Until now.

P.S I’m not sure how regularly I’m going to write these newsletters.
I love writing, but having taken a break, I have realised, as a dyslexic, how much time and energy these newsletters take on top of posting daily on social media and servicing clients.
But I’ll write them when I have things I want to say.
Much respect, peace out ✌️
