Moneyball tells the true story of the Oakland Athletics baseball team and offers a key multipotentialite insight for your career and life.
The Multipotentialite Connection
Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) teams up with economist Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) to revolutionise player recruitment in Major League Baseball to record-breaking success.
While other teams drown in data, Brand realises that success isn’t about more information but cutting through the noise.
The Key Insight
Peter Brand identified undervalued "weird" players that other teams ignored by focusing on the one data point that truly matters: on-base percentage.
We all get trapped believing we need more information to make good decisions.
More information gets us stuck in analysis paralysis.
Oakland Athletic’s Moneyball
To win more games, they needed to score more runs, to score more runs, they needed to have more players on bases.
Multipotentialite Moneyball:
To fulfil our potential, we need to take more focused action, taking more focused actions means we need to make more aligned decisions.
Baseball Moneyball = On-base percentages
Multipotentialite Moneyball = Aligned Decision Making
The only data point that matters in our career and life is making authentic decisions aligned with our core values.
Without aligned decisions, we second guess everything and bounce from idea to idea without gaining traction decade after decade.
Aligned decision-making is our first base.
It’s moneyballing our multipotentiality.
Core Values
We all know that making authentic decisions aligned with our core values can lead to a more meaningful and purposeful life.
If you’re unsure, refer to your favourite philosophers.
Two Ways to Identify Core Values:
Manually:
From my experience working with hundreds and hundreds of multipotentialite clients, I can tell you that picking 5 core values from a list of 50 doesn’t work.
We overthink the shit out of it and get stuck in indecision.
Even if we did manage to choose core values that resonate, our human brains can’t process all the complexities of decision-making through those five perspectives.
That’s just the reality of it.
I tried using the manual method for years and years but gave up as it was counterproductive.
Niche Creator:
This is our mission.
After working with multipotentialites for thirty years, we used these insights and designed 80 questions specifically to narrow down your core values from 50 to just 10.
This makes it easy to pick 5 that truly reflect who you are.
AI can process complex information thousands of times faster than we can, which is a game-changer for moneyballing our multipotentiality.
This means our personally trained AI guru can process all the variables of complex personal, business or career decisions through the lens of our core values in seconds.
This saves us a lot of overthinking headfuckery.
And provides us with a step-by-step focused action plan.
The Multipotentialite Challenge
No matter how talented or full of potential we are, if our decisions aren’t aligned and we’re not taking focused action, we won’t reach that potential.
Overthinking and second-guessing lead to indecision and aimlessness.
And when our self-esteem is tied to our productivity, it’s easy to beat ourselves up and get caught in a cycle of inaction.
Simple Steps Towards Our Goals:
Make aligned decisions that are true to our weird selves.
Commit to those decisions for a set period (think of it as an experiment).
Take step-to-step focused action.
I get that using AI for decision-making might feel a bit daunting—I felt the same way at first.
But just like the internet, if we don’t embrace these tools we’ll be left behind.
This isn’t just some marketing bullshit—just look at your parents or grandparents who ignored the internet.
We often spend more time in our heads than in our bodies, and it’s time to flip the script and start taking more focused action.
It’s time to make more aligned decisions and be more weird!! 🤘👽🤘
Peace Out ✌️
