Peace of Mind Is Violent.
Can peace of mind only be achieved with violence?
I strongly believe so.
You have to kill the self-limiting beliefs that steal your self-worth and rob your creative potential.
Trouble is, you can’t see them.
Your limiting beliefs are a secret prison in your mind. They are stories. The programming that runs your life.
It’s why you make the same mistakes over and over.
It’s why you can sense your potential but can’t quite reach it.
André Agassi said “failure and success is just an illusion.” This is a fascinating insight into the creative mindset of an elite-performer.
Everything is an illusion.
A story.
Good or bad.
Success. Fame. Status? Just a story.
Comparing yourself with others? Just a story.
Don’t think you’re good enough? Just a story.
Not an expert in anything? Just a story.
Feel like a fraud? Just a story
We have to kill these stories before they consume us.
All suffering happens in our minds.
Every creative client I work with, regardless of how successful they are, is running programmes. I can see exactly where they’re stuck.
The specific story that’s become their glass ceiling.
I have the same problem.
I can’t see my own programming. I’m too close.
We can’t read the label when we’re stuck in the jar.
That’s the cruel irony of being stuck. The thing keeping you there is invisible to you.
I had a session with a famous influencer yesterday.
She had been stuck for 2 years and didn’t know why. She tried other coaches.
In under 90 minutes, I got her unstuck. She knows exactly what is blocking her and has a clear plan to move forward.
Limiting beliefs.
André Agassi was stuck.
He was the No.1 in the world and started smoking crystal meth. He spiralled to No. 141 in the rankings. He was the best player in the world.
But a limiting belief destroyed his career and self-worth.
He hit rock bottom.
He could quit. Or he could reconnect with himself.
He killed his limiting beliefs.
He focused on being better today than he was yesterday.
And eventually regained his No.1 spot with purpose and meaning.
The only story worth believing is what you can control.
The violence is the price of the peace.
