In 1961, the U.S. were in the space race with Russia to land the first man on the moon.
Russia were winning having already got the first Astronaut into space.
In response, President John F. Kennedy publicly announced the goal of landing the first man on the moon.
The pressure was on!
NASA hired Professor George Land to design the CPS (Creative Problem Solving) Process.
NASA needed creative thinkers to solve complex challenges.
Professor Land created a test to identify candidates with high levels of divergent thinking.
NASA hired the top divergent thinkers a.k.a neurodivergent multipotentialites.
The term neurodivergence didn’t exist back then so NASA referred to the divergent thinking scientists and engineers as Creative Geniuses.
The NASA Multipotentialites created or leveraged many mental models and creative thinking tools to win the space race.
Neurodivergent multipotentialites have disproportionately contributed to the advancement of society across maths, science, entrepreneurship, technology, engineering, philosophy and the arts, and culture.
✅ This is because our divergent thinking allows us to solve conventional problems in unconventional ways to create unique value.
Today, mainstream society largely stigmatises neurodivergence and labels us lazy and weird for being different…
But that’s another article for another day.
Creative Geniuses = Problem Solvers:
The renowned multipotentialite German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer said,” Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see.”
Talented specialists hit targets others can’t— they make great lawyers, surgeons, accountants, etc.
However, multipotentialites have the potential to hit targets others can’t see.
We all have creative genius within us…
It’s how our brains are wired to spot patterns and synthesise new solutions by joining the dots between our multidisciplinary knowledge.
Some may wince with some imposter syndrome at this term; I have in the past when my creative confidence was low.
Intuitively, you know this is true.
You sense the untapped potential within you.
Even at my lowest, burned out and lost in despair of indecision, I knew I had huge creative potential.
It was why I would beat myself up knowing I had all the potential but unsure where to focus it.
Creative genius for multipotentialites leverages our knowledge diversity, curiosity, and interdisciplinary thinking to solve problems.
People pay to have their problems solved. Find problems, solve them, and create income.
The trouble is we are often blind to our creative genius; we can’t see our potential when squeezed into tiny societal boxes.
I’m the same.
I recently hired a coach who owned an innovation agency and used her creative genius to generate ideas that helped clients sell $2 billion in products.
I’m a 53-year-old multipotentialite.
I can see what many can’t, but I want to deepen these insights and mental models to uncover new ways of thinking and creating.
I want to see further, feel deeper, and innovate at levels beyond my current understanding.
“Reality is negotiable” — Tim Ferris
This is the third coach I’ve hired and it’s not cheap.
However, I can increase my potential impact by investing in myself and reducing the time gap between where I am and where I aspire to be.
This is why we are further developing MaxiMouse and Niche Creator AI to harness our multipotentiality and enhance our creative thinking and potential.
MaxiMouse is not a tool to replace our creativity or innovation but to leverage it.
As our pilot Cohort comes to a successful close next week, I’m reopening my diary for new 1-1 clients.
If you want to get unstuck, and leverage your multipotentiality and see targets others can’t, you can book a 90-minute strategy session here 👇
