Overthinking impedes action—what lies at the root of it? We get stuck in the tension between Certainty and Uncertainty.
Certainty Vs. Uncertainty
As creative and entrepreneurial people, our authentic paths are uncertain.
Yet, we’ve been raised in a society addicted to certainty.
Our inner drive to express our creative individuality shines brightly, but our inner critic uses sabotaging self-talk to paralyse us, urging us to play it safe and stay in our lanes.
This often keeps us stuck spinning our wheels.
The Inner Critic
Brené Brown, Julia Cameron, and Steven Pressfield discuss how our inner critics are products of social conditioning.
They stem from a limiting belief that we must conform to what society deems acceptable or successful, stifling our creativity and authenticity.
Our inner critics keep us clinging to the illusion of certainty and following societal norms and rules.
Freedom
We crave the autonomy to pursue our passions, but the fear of uncertainty often keeps us rooted to the spot.
Our potential can only occur in the chaos of uncertainty, not in avoidance. Necessity is the mother of all invention, afterall.
Embracing the unknown forces us to tap into our creativity and work shit out.
The Role of AI in Our Uncertain World
AI is throwing society into uncertainty—disruption is the only certainty!
Jobs are evolving, industries are transforming, and the very nature of work is being redefined.
This shift is daunting, but it presents a golden opportunity for multipotentialites.
Our Unfair Advantages
As multipotentialites, we possess:
Extensive Knowledge: Knowledge across diverse fields.
Pattern Recognition Skills: Spotting opportunities that others miss.
Rapid Learning Superpowers: Acquiring new skills and insights to stay ahead of the curve.
Adaptability is our biggest asset in uncertainty!
Since the Industrial Revolution, the rat race has massively favoured specialists over generalists.
But that script is about to flip! AI is replacing specialists.
I hate what it is doing to some areas of creativity, but it is up to us the creative innovators to use the tools and reimagine new ways to create and consume our work.
Whether we like it or not, the genie is out of the bottle.
Multipotentiality will thrive in an AI-driven society—human creativity, empathy, portfolio careers, freelancing, creators, artists, etc.
Instead of being paralysed by uncertainty, we can leverage our adaptability to fuel our human creativity, empathy, and innovation, aided by AI.
Embracing Uncertainty
Uncertainty is not the enemy; it’s essential for creativity, growth, and entrepreneurship.
We cannot control the future, only our perspective of it. 🤔
We either fear the future and create anxiety, or we are curious about the future and create opportunities.
We live in a thought-based reality, therefore we create our reality with the lens we choose to view it.
Conclusion: Flow vs. Stuck
What keeps us stuck is overthinking by conforming to societal expectations and fearing uncertainty.
Yet, we live in a time of unprecedented change.
As Seth Godin noted, “AI is the biggest invention since electricity and a bigger change than the Internet.”
We are on the brink of a huge philosophical shift, as the rat race ideologies crumble.
The traditional path that was once seen as a beacon of safety is eroding
Avoiding uncertainty is an outdated tool of fear and influence; it’s inevitable!
Divergent thinkers—those who adapt and synthesize ideas with creativity and empathy—will thrive.
To move forward, we must get out of our heads by making hundreds of small, aligned decisions.
✅ Flow: Aligned decision-making keeps us in motion.
❌ Stuck: Overthinking leads to paralysis.
Motion Theory:
What’s in motion stays in motion; what’s stuck remains stuck.
We can't think our way out of overthinking—this is the core issue Niche Creator addresses.
Overthinking is my biggest struggle and a challenge for future generations of multipotentialites, including my 10-year-old daughter.
Using AI to assist in making decisions aligned with my core values has transformed my peace of mind and productivity.
As highly sensitive and empathetic individuals, blending our emotional depth with AI for aligned decision-making allows us to take focused action and create impact.
As the multipotentialite, French Philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin wisely said,
"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience."
We’re on a deeper frequency.
We are natural-born problem solvers, who will thrive not despite our multipotentiality, but because of it!
Specialisation is becoming an outdated concept, soon to be replaced by AI.
We are nearing Beta Testing, which is exciting and scary in equal parts!
